I feel the need to share this. Maybe you have a home based business, beginning entrepreneur, or you provide some sort of widget/service…Doesn’t matter, but here are a few truths to keep in mind as you navigate on your business journey:
- Nobody Cares About Your Product/ServiceThis is truth. Talking about how awesome you or your product is does not attract an audience. The goal is to create interest and not to solely be interesting. What does your product/service do for your target audience? What are the key benefits? How will they gain from using your product/service versus another? You have to convey the importance of your product/service that leads them to the next step. Saying “It’s awesome, you should try it, you’re missing out, look at me”, riddled with unnecessary exclamation points benefits your audience none.
- Focus On The OutcomeYou obviously provide your product/service because it has a core benefit, correct? The weight loss pill helps with cutting fat.. The tea you promote gets rid of waste.. The pizza you sell is super delicious.. The personal training you provide gets people in shape.Yes, these are benefits of your service, but what is the outcome? What will they gain as a result of consuming your product/service. Why would someone want to take the diet pill?…To finally reach their health goals, to feel alive again, to get back high school skinny, to feel confident, empowered, etc… You have to speak to their core desires. This core desire(s) is the true reason they invested in your product/service. The more you can speak to this with accuracy, the more you’ll sell. Go deep. Learn who your target market is. Understand their desires and what makes them tick. And focus on the outcome.
- Give Value Throughout – The exchange of value is hands down the best way to sell anything. What sounds better?Example #1: ‘Super duper wiz bang product. Buy now!!!!Example #2: – ‘The top 5 reasons why Echinacea is a necessity for your health’… (you then provide content supporting the reasons why Echinacea is beneficial, and you intertwine your product for sale which happens to be a health supplement with Echinacea)Maybe this value is delivered in the form of a blog post, a video, or a Facebook post such as this one. Give value first, then sale. Providing value as a means to sell is even more effective. When you provide value, it allows consumers to become more educated and informed. It allows them to make better decisions, which influences their buying. Whatever you provide, ask yourself how you can continually provide value that will lead the consumer down the continuum leading to a sale.
Remember, selling is about the exchange of value. Get your eyes off yourself and focus on your audience and watch your sales increase significantly. Keep on keeping on, your BEST is yet to come.
